Brooklyn, NY - KCC wave were defeated by the Bronx CC Broncos 78 - 67 on Saturday. KCC was led by Sophomore guard #34
Sydney Josaphat and Freshman Forward #40
Vakas Iqbal who had 12 and 18 pts respectively. Its the second consecutive lost for the wave after opening the season with a win over defending conference champions BMCC.
After jumping out to a 15 - 0 lead to start the game, the broncos continued being agressive through the first half, which saw them lead by as much as 20 before the KCC eventually settled down and made several scoring runs just before the half to cut the broncos lead down to five - 37 - 42.
Starting off the sceond half as they did the beginning of the game, the Broncos neutalized the wave offensively by controlling the pace of the game forcing KCC to play at a pace that they did not seem comfortable at which lead to 29 KCC turnovers while just having eight assist.
Coach Lambert even though disappointed with the last two defeats,he remains confident that his team would eventually start playing more consistent team basketball instead of individual basketball which seems to be the achilles heel of his young basketball team. KCC faces a tough week head with road games against regional foes Nassau CC and Hostos CC. The wave would have to become a team immediatey if they want to turn this young season around.
