Box Score
The Wave opened the 2012-2013 season with a tough defeat against Region XV rival Nassau CC. 109-91. The game started off with both teams trading baskets. KCC led by sophomore Co-captain Terrence Hardwick's three point shooting who started the game on a shooting streak to tie the game early At 12 apiece. Nassau then got on a 10-0 run and to take control of the game and put the score to 22-12. Nassau CC kept the lead through halftime (49-38) as Kingsborough struggled to cut the lead to single didgets.

In the second half, Nassau continued their dominant performance over the Wave. The First minutes of the Second period saw the Wave go down as much as 25 points. At the moment Kingsborough needed some energy, they looked for options from their bench. Freshman Guard Cashawn McFadden provided the Wave with some much needed offense from the bench by scoring 21 points including 8 points within the laps of a minute to initiate a 17-0 run for the Wave over the Lions. Freshman Forward Malichi West (9 rebounds and 4 blocks) West and Che Gonzales (17 points and 4 Assists) also contributed in keeping the Wave's run going both offensively and defensively.

The Wave fought hard in their first game of the season. There are certainly a lot of areas in which can improve especially on the defensive end where they gave away too many easy baskets.
