Men's Basketball : Kingborough Tops Queensborough 86-74 for First Win

The Kingsborough Wave defeated the Queensborough Tigers 86-74, and earned their first win of the season. David Campbell scored 22 points to lead the Wave, while Cashawn McFadden and Eddie Kinloch scored 21 points each.  

The Wave started the contest on a fast start, taking the game to the visitors with a 8-0 lead against the Tigers. Queensborough reacted and would stepped up their game by converting two consecutive three point plays to bring themselves back in the game at 17-10.

After Kingsborough's David Campbell's back to back basket that gave the Wave a 10-point lead 28-18 with under 11 minutes to go, Queensborough would push themselves in a 13-0 run  during a 6 minute-stretch in which they took a 28-31 lead with 5:17 left to play in the first half. Cashawn McFadden combined with the efforts of David Campbell would give Kingsborough back a 4-point with 1:36 in the half.

The first half ended with a nice layup shot by Wave Forward Eddie Kinloch that would beat the buzzer as Kingsborough lead Queensborough 40-37.

With also their first win on the line, QCC would comeback from the locker room with a 5-0 run that gave them a two point advantage over the home team 42-40. That lead would not last long as Kingsborough's Joshua Myers would initiate a Wave 20-2 run and the Wave were back on top at 65-49 with 8:10 to play in the game.

Despite being down 15, the Tigers would not give up on the game. A foul called on Taurean Miller followed by a technical foul resulted in Queensborough cutting the lead back to single digits. KCC's Cashawn McFadden missed two freethrows and Queensborough would convert on the over end to cut down the Kingsborough lead to six points 80-74 with 2:57 to play.

Kingsborough would finally ice the game with 6 late freethrows, and earned their first win of the season by the score of 86-74.
