Tough Lost for the Wave Tennis in Season Opener

The Kinsborough Community College Men's Tennis opened their season with a tough defeat in an away game against Dutchess Community College 8 matches to 1.

In the first game, the Wave's captain and returning player Kubanichpek Maripbek went up against Jeff Berstell and was defeated in two sets (1-6 and 0-6). Returning Player Trevaughn Daley would also lose his contest in two sets (3-6 and 6-7).

Freshmen players Andrew Mendelson, Gary Solberg and Mohammad Beidak would have solid games but were unable to close out their respective oppoenents. 

Kingsborough's only victory on the day would come from first year player Wagner Cepeda who defeated Pli Bao in two sets (6-0 and 6-2)

In the doubles matches, KCC's team of Gytis Kavaliauskas and Jamal Copeland, would fall 3-8 against Dutchess's Jonathan Randolph and Pli Bao, while the Wave's Team of Maripbek and Daley would come up short against the Dutchess's Berstell and Tsujir 9 to 8.

Kingsborough will be looking to bounce back from the loss against Nassau Community College on Thursday April 18
