Men's Basketball : Wave Defeated Colts, Pushes their Winning Streak to 5 games

Kingsborough Wave Men's basketball team defeated Orange Colts 74-67 to push their winning streak to 5 games.

Kingsborough started the game strong, pushing the ball to the Orange defense. The Wave also looked sharp in defense with Cashawn McFadden stealing the ball on two consecutives occasions which led to two converted layups. With 4:09 left in the first Kingsborough had a 31-19 lead over Orange.

Despite being down 11, the Colts would not give up. They took advantage of a 4-minute scoring drought from the Wave to bring the score within 4 points. Orange's 10-2 run in the last stretch of the first half put the score to 33-29 at the break.

In the early minutes of the second half, Orange carried their momentum from the last stretch of the first half to keep the pressure on the Wave. With less than 17 minutes left, the Colts would tie the game at 35 before Eddie Kinloch and Taurean Miller converted on consecutive layups to give the Wave back the lead.

Cashawn McFadden and David Campbell would score consecutive three pointers, but Orange would respond back with a three pointer on their own to keep the score close.

The two teams battled through the second half and kept their margin close. Orange's Brian Paccione would hit a crucial three pointer with less than 2 minutes left to the game and brought the visitors within 3 points (69-66). Following two made Freethrows by Cashawn McFadden, Orange would get called for a moving screen violation and Kingsborough would get the ball back with 35 seconds to go in the game.
