Women's Basketball: Lady Wave win the Northeast Cup Tournament in Boston!

The Kingsborough Lady Wave have won the 2024 Northeast Cup Tournament at Massasoit Community College in Boston!

They kicked off the tournament by defeating the Hudson Valley Vikings in game 1, 100-94, with strong performances from Endya Greene, who scored 34 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Tionna Davis, who added 21 points and 6 assists.

In game 2, the Lady Wave faced the host team, the Massasoit Warriors, and won 79-72. Endya Greene delivered another impressive performance with a 30-point double-double, scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. Zakieya Williams also contributed solidly with 16 points, helping the Lady Wave advance to 2-0.

In the final game, the Lady Wave dominated the Fulton-Montgomery Raiders, winning 107-44 to secure the 2024 Northeast Cup Tournament title. For a third consecutive game, Endya Greene was a standout saving her best for the final, scoring a triple-double on 34 points and 11 rebounds and 10 steals, earning her the title of Finals MVP. Zakieya Williams and Tionna Davis also contributed significantly, with Williams adding 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists, while Davis posted 14 points, 10 assists, and 4 rebounds.

Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff on their undefeated tournament run! The champions next game will take place Thursday as they travel to the Bronx to take on will be back home next Tuesday, November 19th, at 5 p.m. to host the BMCC Panthers!
