Brooklyn, NY (December 10, 2024) – Kingsborough Community College (KCC) is proud to announce that its EA FC 25 esports team has won the NJCAAE Premier Series National Championship title. The team, led by Coach Dr. Daniel Kane and featuring star athlete Santiago Burgos, completed an undefeated season with a dominant performance in the national playoffs.

KCC's EA FC 25 team finished the regular season with a perfect 6-0 record, securing the #1 seed in the East Postseason playoffs. They then proceeded to defeat Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College (3-0) and Lakeland Community College (3-1) to claim the East Postseason title and advance to the EA FC 25 National Premier Series Playoffs.

As the #3 seed in the National Playoffs, KCC faced stiff competition. They first overcame Lackawanna College (3-0 series victory) in the opening round and then triumphed over Hawkeye Community College (3-1 series victory) in the semi-finals. This set up a rematch against Lakeland Community College in the National Championship match.

In a thrilling final, Lakeland took the first game 3-1. However, KCC, led by the exceptional play of Santiago Burgos, rallied back to win the next three games (4-1, 2-1, and 2-1) and secure the National Championship title with a 3-1 series victory.

"This is a great moment for Kingsborough Community College and our esports program," said Coach Kane. "Santiago's dedication and hard work throughout the season have culminated in this incredible achievement. We are immensely proud to bring home our first esports National Trophy."

This victory marks a significant milestone for KCC's esports program, demonstrating its commitment to excellence and ability to compete at the highest level.
