Brooklyn, NY - The Kingsborough Wave returned home after 12-days away to host the Suffolk County Sharks in game 2 of the women-men doubleheader.
The Wave's
Chris Jace opened the first with a bang as he nailed back-to-back threes. This would be the first of many as
Torian Douglas followed with three of his own. The Wave's shooting in the first 10 minutes was lights-out as they were rarely missing.
Torian Douglas had three three-pointers in the first 10 minutes of the game.
Chris Jace was also shooting unconscious as he made three-threes in the span of 1:30 in game minutes.
Abdoul Toure also played phenomenally in the first constantly getting to and scoring in the paint. All this led the Wave starting o; the game on a 24-0 run and at the end of the 1st the Wave led the Sharks, 59-29.
To start the 2nd,
Torian Douglas hit a 3-pointer but after that, it was all Sharks. The Sharks would go on a 13-0 run. Wave head coach Lambert Shell didn't like what he was seeing and would call a timeout. Following the timeout, the Wave would find their footing and showcased that on both offense and defense as,
Torian Douglas fed it to
Angel Laureano who found an open
Abdoul Toure for a beautiful finish made possible by nice team ball movement. Toure was locked in because he stuck around for the Sharks inbound pass and got the steal and put it up for another two-points.
Chris Jace continued his solid day on both sides as he had a tough block on a shark attempting to enter the paint. Laureano and Toure also found their way to points o; turnovers leading to fast-break opportunities at the other end. All-around, it was a great team effort as the Wave defeated the Sharks, 92-62.
The Wave win for a 4th time in 6 games and completed a sweep of the women-men doubleheader. The Wave now stand at 4-6 after starting the season 0-4 and have won their last 3 games at home.
The Wave will be back home Tuesday night in game two of another women-men doubleheader as they'll host the Nassau Lions at 8pm.
