Born and raised in Flatbush, Brooklyn, Hernandez has been playing baseball since he was 5 years old. Hernandez attended bishop ford Central Catholic High school where he would play on their varsity baseball team for three years (2010-2014).
Hernandez also played in many summer league teams, including the Brooklyn Boonies from Parade Grounds.
Hernandez then on went to play four years of college baseball at Queens College where he completed his bachelor degree in Nutrition and Exercise science(2014-2018).
he also played Semi-pro baseball in the Perdin Zorrilla League in Brooklyn, New York for the Zorilla Aguilas.
Hernandez is entering his first year coaching as the KCC men baseball team's pitching coach.
