Coach Taverna joins The Wave in his first year with the team, having over 10 years of high school coaching experience with Madison High School in Brooklyn. In his time at Madison, the program had several winning seasons, including multiple years in the quarter and semi finals in the cities playoff brackets.Â
Taverna is also current member of the Italian American Baseball Foundation (IABF), helping to bring awareness to Italian baseball.
When coach Taverna’s playing days were over he embarked on a professional wrestling career. While his wrestling career proved to be successful, baseball remained his passion, he hopes to bring that passion to Kingsborough this season to help Coach Dowd produce a dominant program for years to come.
