Niall Bernard is joining the Kingsborough family in his first year as an Assistant Basketball Coach.  Niall is no stranger to CUNY Basketball after playing 4 years at Baruch College  from 1995-1999 under legendary coach Ray Rankis.  Niall was a 2 sport athlete playing 2 years on the soccer team from 1995 -1997 until he suffered a fracture that ended his soccer days.  He then primarily focused on basketball.  During his years at Baruch, he was honored as the soccer captain in his second year and was a team captain in Basketball in both his Junior and Senior years.  Niall was 2ndteam All-Conference in soccer in 1997.
 
Niall has played many years on the NY basketball circuit playing in tournaments such as Nike Pro City, EBC Rucker and the Legendary West 4th Street Pro Classic.  Niall has won numerous Tournament Championships and will be bringing a lot of this experience to share with this group of players.  Most recently Niall has turned his attention to coaching and over the last several years has been coaching some of New York’s best players and even several NBA players in some of the country’s most competitive tournaments.
 
Niall will be involved in all facets of the program, from player recruiting, scouting and working with players on their individual development. 
 
Coach B, as the players refer to him, has a B.B.A in Computer Information Services from Baruch College and currently works as a Senior Systems Engineer at a prestigious law firm in the Wall Street area.  Niall was born and raised in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and has been residing here in Brooklyn for the last 20 years. One of Coach B’s favorite phrases is “Hard work will always beat talent when talent does not work hard.”
