Long-time coach Bob DiNardo will bring his experience to lead the Women's Basketball program. Bob has over 30 years of coaching experience that he will build on here as a member of the KCC Wave Athletics team. Bob's coaching career began way back in 1977 coaching an 8th grade team at Our Lady Queen of Angels School. Since then, Bob has coached both genders at all levels in numerous settings including Baruch College, Concordia College, Monsignor Scanlon HS, Long Island Lightning and 2 stints at Queensborough CC. Everywhere Bob has coached, he has taught respect and discipline; as a result has a has gotten positive results. One of Bobs proudest accomplishemts is that in over 30 years of coaching, he has never been hit with a technical foul! That is an example of the structured and respectful programs he has run in the past and that he plans to continue running here at KCC.
From 1984-1999 he coached the varsity basketball team at Monsignor Scanlon to a record of 198-155. After gaining recognition for his work at Mgr. Scanlon, his next stop was the head coach of Baruch College's Women's Basketball team. During Bob's 5 year run at Baruch (1999-2004) he built a winning program going 48-31 in his last 3 years with the team. Coach DiNardo was named CUNY Co-Coach of the Year for his efforts in the 2001-2002 season. After leaving Baruch, Bob DiNardo accepted the position of the Concordia College (NCAA Division II) Women's Basketball program and ran that team for 5 seasons doing very well. Bob's most recent outstanding accomplishment was winning the CUNY regular season title in his only season as the head coach of the Queensborough CC women's basketball team in 2011.
Coach DiNardo does not only have experience as a coach in the CUNY system, but also as a student. Bob earned his Bachelor's Degree from Baruch College in 1974 and was named the Baruch College Athlete of the Year in 1974 while winning the ECAC Merit Award. Bob then earned his Master's Degree in Education from Lehman College before earning his PD in School Administration and Supervision from St. John's University in 2006. Bob has been working with the Catholic Schools located in Brooklyn throughout his professional career and in now the principal of a local Catholic elementary school. A product of Brooklyn, Coach Bob DiNardo now lives in Farmingdale, NY located on Long Island.
