Dave Loobie

Dave Loobie joined the coaching staff here at KCC in the spring of 2000 as the Men's and Women's Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach. His experiences dates back to his youth in his native land (Trinidad & Tobago) where he was mentor by Coach Franky Frances while running for the Esteem Track & Field club, Morvant Jets. In the late 80th he migrated to  the United States and settled in Brooklyn, New York where he attended the legendary, Boy's & Girl's High School. He later became a stand-out 800m runner while attending Coppin State College in Baltimore, Maryland. Upon graduating, he further his running career with the historical New York Pioneers Track & Field Club under the guidance's of Coach Ed Levy.

Coach Loobie has been tween name the NJCAA Women's Outdoor Track & Field Division III Coach Of The Year and during his stay here at Kingsborough Community College has produce over 30 Division III All-Americans, 4 Division I All-Americans and two national records, Ray Miley in the 400m and the 2010 Women's 4x400m relay team. However, Coach Loobie said, his proudest accomplishment in Track & Field is seeing his athletes receive full athletics scholarship to some of the top Division I programs in the country.
