Box Score Brooklyn, NY - Kingsborough opened the season with a 80 - 71 loss at home to their rivals BMCC in what was a highly contested game.
Kingsbrough was led by Joshua Perez who finished the game with 34pts, 2rebs,4stls in an impressive debut for the transfer from Hostos. Perez had a complete game providing energy, leadership and a scoring touch whenever the wave needed a basket. Sophomore Hamed Gatti chipped in with 11pts,10rebs,3stls.

The first half was all kingsborough as Perez provided the scoring punch capped by an empathic dunk with 3 minutes before the half. Backed by a loud and enthuiastic student body that came out to cheer on the wave kingsborough began the second half as they ended the first half stretching their lead to as much as 10pts.

BMCC responded and began to cut into the lead, led by #44 Kenneth Coar Jr who provided BMCC with inside scoring and ended the game with 17pts, he was helped by #10 Justin Manon who also had a solid game for the panthers and ended the game with 16pts. BMCC eventually tied the game on a 3pt basket by #11 Joseph Ojo (11pts) with 6 minutes to go in the game. BMCC used that momentum to increase their lead to double digits, a lead that proved to be too much for kingsborough to overcome. In an effort to stop the clock and extend the game Kingsborough began fouling sending BMCC to the free throw line where they converted almost all their free throws to seal the game.

Kingsborough will try to get into the win column on Thursday Nov 13th at home against Laguradia CC @ 8:30pm the second game of a double header. The first game which begins at 6:30pm will see the Lady wave in action as they too trying to get into the win column.
