Box Score Brooklyn, NY – It was heart break at the buzzer for Kingsborough Men's basketball team on Tuesday night losing 76-74 on a last second runner by #2 Edwin Sainvil, after putting in a tremendous effort against the #8 team in the country Nassau CC.
The Game started off at a fast pace with both teams trading baskets in the opening 5 mins. As the game slowed, both teams began to establish their respective centers to run their offense. Kingsborough ran their offense through #55
Hamed Guitti 8pts, 8rebs while Nassau established inside presence by making it their duty to get the ball to their center # 33 J. Charles 15pts. It was shaping up to be a battle of the centers until they both got into foul trouble.

Tayyab Hussein who had a career night against Nassau led the charge for Kingsborough as he hit 6 of 8 from behind the arc finishing with a team high 22pts 2rebs.
Joshua Perez helped by playing an all-round game finishing with 19pts,5rebs,2asst.
Nassau with its pair of hot shooting guards #2 Eric Sainvil, #5 E. Chambers, as well as the defensive efforts of #23 E. Mark, kept them in the lead until Charles re-entered the game. Immediately he asserted his dominance by putting together three back to back baskets extending the Nassau lead, while putting Guitti deeper into foul trouble.

Tayyab Hussein and #2 Perez who had a better game this time around, helped keep Kingsborough within striking distance of the #8 team in the country heading into the half time down 42 – 32.

Tayyab Hussein continued his hot shooting from the first half hitting timely shot after shot. As Guitti picked up his 4
th foul, #41
Kyle Alexander stepped in and provided scoring, energy, rebounding, and another big body to mix it up in the post with #33 J. Charles.
The game remained close until the last 2 minutes when Hussein hit one of his many 3's to bring the wave within 1pt. #2
Joshua Perez followed that with a lay-up of his own to put the wave up by 1 with 1:43sec left.
After a stretch of turnovers and fouls by Kingsborough and an exchange of free throws, Nassau took a 74 – 72 lead with a minute to play. After another Kingsborough turnover giving Nassau possession of the ball, they once again went inside to center #33 J.Charles to seal the game and the win, but instead he was called for a charging foul. Kingsborough with the ball, went inside to #41
Kyle Alexander and he was fouled, putting him on the line with a chance to tie the game up at 74 – 74, which he calmly did by hitting his two free throws.
Coach Wynder of Nassau calls time out to set the play up that would eventually net the game winner for Nassau CC. #2 E. Sainvil went the length of the court through the kingsborough defense to hit the game winner as time expired giving Nassau CC a hard fought road win at the buzzer over a deflated and stunned Kingsborough basketball team and fans.
Coach Lambert was lost for words and said "this loss felt worse than any loss he had in his career because the guys worked so hard and played a tremendous game against a team that had won the Region XV championship and finish 4th at the NCAA Tournament last season". Coach Lambert went on to say he was proud of the way his guys competed from the start to end, especially when Nassau had built a double digit lead. They showed toughness, worked harder and together to bring them back and put them in a position to win the game.
