Men's Basketball : Wave Defeated Panthers, Snags Second Place in CUNYAC Standings

Kingsborough Wave defeated CUNYAC rival BMCC Panthers 80-74 in their home court as they now move up to a potential second place seeding in the conference standing. With this win, Kingsobrough's over record is now pushed to 13-12 with only two games left in the season for the Wave.

Kingsborough opened up the half with excellent shooting from Cashawn McFadden and David Campbell. The Wave took an early 10 point lead in the first quarter, but BMCC went on a run to cut the lead back to 4 (8-14), with 10 minutes to go in the first.

With less than 4 minutes to go David Campbell hit a three pointer from a pass by Cashawn McFadden. On the Following play McFadden netted a three pointer from a David Campbell pass that opened up an 11 point lead for Wave with 3:45 to go in the half.

Kingsborough maintained their lead and would finish the half with a score of 37-29.

Coming from the second half the Wave kept the momentum going with Cashawn McFadden's magnificent passing skills and great vision on the fast break feeding William Arhendts on a jumper on one end, and David Campbell on a layup on the next play. With 4:54 to go, Kingsborough held a 16 point lead over the Panthers (71-55).

BMCC would attempt a comeback that would cut the score within 9 points. That effort came a little too late for the Panthers as the Wave took a 80-74 victory over the visitors.
