The Wave faced off against Suffolk Community last week in their season series. The boys played them hard in 4 games but came up empty in the wins column. The Sharks were the first team this season to shut down the KCC offense. Kingsborough pitching really showed up last week, but without the help of timely hitting that would have put Suffolk away. They fell to the sharks 5-3, 3-2, 2-0, and 4-1.

This week began the season series against Bronx Community. Joseph Liotta took the hill on Tuesday. The Wave got out to an early 4-0 lead due to some clutch hitting. The lead however would not last long and KCC would fall to the Broncos in the first game 6-4.

The second game of the series on Friday would see Michael Cassavella take the mound to try and snap the 6 game skid. He would really show up for them throwing a solid game and as usual giving his team a chance to win the game.

The Wave offense rediscovered itself, exploding for 15 runs in 7 innings, including a six run 6th and a 3 run 7th.  Kingsborough's lead off and two hole batter, Brian Doyle and Jonathan Bianchino had a combined 9 hits. Doyle went 5-5 and Bianchino had 4 hits. Nicholas Manzione continued his hot hitting adding 4 hits this game including a two run ground rule double with two outs in the first that really jump started The Wave offense. Joseph Burgund added a few hits, spraying both gaps with a triple to left center and a double off the wall in right center. Catcher Josuel Dicen would continue to play great defense behind the dish for The Wave, throwing out a pair of runners and calling a good game for fellow Sophomore Michael Cassavella. The Wave finished the game in 7 innings by a score of 15-7.

Friday's win against the Bronx clinches a spot in the regional tournament beginning May 8th. The tournament will consist of the top four teams in Region XV. The winner will host the region in the NJCAA Div III World Series in Tyler, Texas with a shot at a national championship.
