The Wave was back in action on Tuesday after a rained filled weekend that saw three of the four scheduled games in the series against Queensborough cancelled. Kingsborough lost the first game of the series against Queensborough last Thursday 10-8 after being in control most of the game. A Queensborough five run 6th flipped momentum on the side of the Tigers and KCC never quite recovered.

Tuesday's game against BMCC did not show the sharp Wave that was expected early in the game defensively. A few mental miscues gave BMCC a chance to put runs on the board early. BMCC scored 2 runs in the first but KCC was able to tie the game in the bottom of the first frame. Leadoff man Justin Baierlein hit the first ball thrown by the BMCC starter a long way to deep center for a Leadoff triple which would be the beginning of a 2 run 1st to tie the game.

BMCC would answer back in the top of the 2nd with two more runs making the score 4-2. A two out single in the bottom of the frame by Justin Baierlein followed by a single from center fielder Brian Doyle would cut the lead to 4-3. Kingsborough starter Joseph Liotta would settle down after the second and allow only one more run to touch the plate for BMCC, going 6 good innings.

The 3rd and 4th innings would show an explosion of offense by The Wave, scoring 11 runs in the two innings, five in the 3rd and six in the 4th. The six runs scored in the 4th were the result of a two out rally started by catcher Christopher Gargullio, who singled down the left field line. Two big triples later in the inning, another by Justin Baierlein and one from Christian Buckman that went off the wall deep in left center field, really solidified the offensive statement made by The Wave.

The game ended in the bottom of the sixth when 3rd baseman Louis Liberta  hit a solo home run to left center that put the mercy rule into effect making the final score 15-5.   KCC's 1-3 hitter really had a day with Justin Baierlein going  3-4 with 2 triples, 4 stolen bases, 4 runs scored, and 2 RBI's. Brian Doyle also had 4 stolen bases, went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and 3 runs scored. Louis Liberta went 3-4 with a home run. The wave will take the field again at home on Friday against BMCC.
