Brooklyn, NY - The Kingsborough Wave hosted the BMCC Panthers Tuesday night in a game that featured quite the storyline in which, the Wave's
Chris Jace faced oF against his younger brother, Panthers' Amar Loadholt with a crowd of friends and family in attendance.
The Wave set the tone early in this one after
Chris Jace hit a 3 for the first points of the game. Early it was back-and-forth and with the Wave down 17-15,
Torian Douglas hit a 3 to take the lead, and
Phillip Khobot followed with points of his own to make it a 20-17 game. The Wave continued their good first half performance with a dime from Douglas to Khobot for two, and an insane steal and pass by Jace as he's falling to the ground as he gets it to
Oliver Reyes Jr. for two.
Chris Jace and
Phillip Khobot continued their strong first halves as the Wave took a 41-34 lead into the half.
To open the second half
Kevar Samuels had back-to-back points in the paint including putting a Panther in a blender in the paint on a nasty spin move, followed by a ferocious
slam by
Chris Jace. Samuels and Jace continued their strong efforts in the second half as Jace was weaving through defenders not being denied at the rim, and Samuels converting the points plus the foul.
Phillip Khobot and
Angel Laureano hit threes to extend the Wave lead. Down the stretch
Abdoul Toure took over to close out this game with a step back
jumper and a fast break layup that would end up proving to be the dagger as the Wave would win 87-73, their 2nd in their last 3 games.
Christopher Jace finished the game with a triple-double on 18 PTS, 10 REB, and 10 AST.
The Wave will be back at home Thursday, November 21st, at 8pm as they host the LaGuardia Red Hawks.
