Brooklyn, NY - The Kingsborough Wave put their hot streak to the test as the #5 ranked Dutchess Falcons come into town for an exciting matchup.
The Wave started strong in the first half, with contributions from
Abdoul Toure,
Tysean Boney, who recorded physical baskets in the paint meanwhile,
Chris Jace,
Torian Douglas and, Saquon Roberts were on point from beyond the arc. The Wave were moving the ball well, capitalizing on inside scoring and perimeter shooting. Defensively, they made key stops, maintaining control through much of the first half as they would take a 38-32 lead over the #5 ranked team in the country into the half.
In the second half it was a different story as the Falcons would open the half on a 10-0 run to capture the lead. The Wave were able to keep the game within a point for most of the second half but despite strong efforts from
Abdoul Toure,
Chris Jace, and
Malik Lewis, the Falcons offense was too much for the Wave as they would get outscored 47-32 in the second half with 14 of those points coming within the last three minutes, much consisting of fouls and second chance points. The Falcons would defeat the Wave by a final score of, 79-68.
The Wave were able to more than hang around the #5 ranked team in Dutchess and keep it close until the end but were unable to finish the job and have their season high 5-game win streak snapped. They'll have the opportunity to rebound as they take on the Hostos Caiman next timeout.
