Brooklyn, NY - The Kingsborough Wave looked to pick up their 5th win in their last 8 games as they took on the #15 ranked Monroe-Bronx Express.
The first half of the game was an entertaining answer-for-answer contest that included multiple lead changes. Chris Jace once again doing it all, whether it was finding teammate Torian Douglas for points inside, or taking it himself for two. Over the Wave's hot streak, we've seen players such as Abdoul Toure really find their groove and he continued that as he contributed for the Wave In the 1st half.

James Elder also proved valuable for the Wave as he managed a steal that led to fastbreak points the other way. Elder followed that up with
an impressive off-balance fade away jumper. The Wave were trailing the Express but went on a 12-0 run to end the 1st half capped off by a beautiful euro move by Chris Jace to get into the paint and dish it off to Torian Douglas who capped off the effort. The Wave would head into half with a 34-28 lead.

The 2nd half continued to be a gritty battle between the two teams. The Wave were staying in It with the #15 ranked Express as they would find contributions from a multitude of players. Abdoul Toure had a nasty euro step to drive in the paint for two, Jace would knock down a three to extend the Wave lead. The Express would fight back and capture momentum and eventually regaining the lead. Following fouls on Abdoul Toure and Torian Douglas (which they converted at the line), The Wave recaptured the lead. Chris Jace and Kevar Samuels were trying to put a end to this one as, Jace would take it inside for a physical two and later followed that up with a three, Samuels had a monster block on an Express player who tried to put it up past him in the paint. The Wave held a 8-point lead with 3:30 remaining in the game when the Express would nail back-to-back three's to bring it within 2. Enter Chris Jace who would take it in for two and make it a 4-point game with just over a minute remaining. The Express would be fouled and would convert both to make it a 2-point game and the Wave couldn't get a shot up with under a minute remaining and the Express would have a chance to tie or win the game with the shot clock being turned off, The Express go for the win on a three-pointer and it was no good and the Wave would escaped with a narrow 69-67 victory over ranked Express.

The Wave continue to play well after starting the season 0-4 and have won 5 of their last 8 games. The Wave will return to action on the 18th and 19th as they join the Lady Wave on their trip up to Boston as they'll play women-men doubleheaders vs the Northern Essex Nights and Bunker Hill Bulldogs.
