The Kingsborough Lady Wave returned to game action in dominant fashion, securing a 64–37 victory over the Suffolk Lady Sharks in their first game since December 7th.
Kingsborough set the tone early as
Shaimaa Yarrou opened the scoring, igniting a relentless first-quarter surge.
Kianny Aristy followed with a floater in the lane before drilling a three and attacking the basket consistently, while
Lejla Huseinovic added a triple of her own.
Aneiyah Alexander capped the quarter with an and-one, as the Lady Wave stormed out to a commanding 24–5 lead after one.
The Lady Wave continued to control the game in the second quarter. Alexander finished strong inside,
Justinna Boatwright showcased her presence in the paint with a smooth hook, and
Emily Pinnock-Jarret converted at the rim. Aristy remained aggressive offensively, helping Kingsborough carry a 38–17 advantage into halftime.
Out of the break, Kingsborough showed no signs of slowing down. Boatwright opened the half with an and-one, Aristy knocked down another three, and Alexander once again powered through contact, highlighting the Lady Wave's physicality and depth.
Aristy led all scorers with 20 points, adding 6 assists and 5 steals in a complete performance. Alexander followed with 15 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Boatwright contributed 9 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. Yarrou chipped in 6 points, and Huseinovic and Pinnock-Jarret each added 5 as Kingsborough shot 48% from the field and held Suffolk to just 37 points.
In their return to action, the #14 Lady Wave delivered a complete team performance on both ends of the floor, controlling the tempo from start to finish in a convincing 64–37 win.
