Women's Basketball: #9 Lady Wave defeat Suffolk County Lady Sharks; Wins 10th Consecutive game

Box Score 1 Brooklyn, NY - The #9 ranked Kingsborough Lady Wave hosted Su9olk County Lady Sharks in game one of the women-men doubleheader on Tuesday night.

To start the game of, Endaya Greene had a ferocious block on a Shark to keep the game scoreless early. Following a scoring drought early from both sides, Endaya would put a halt to that, getting her first points of the game in the paint. This would mark the beginning of what would become a 12-0 run for the Wave. All in all, it was a low-scoring 1st quarter but in their first in-game action in a week, The Wave led the Sharks, 16-6.

In the 2nd quarter, the Wave came out strong on both sides of the ball as Taima Flores opened the quarter with a block, and Zakieya Williams extended the lead with put-back. Endaya Greene also contributed with converting for two at the line. Unfortunately for Endaya and the Wave, she re-aggravated a shoulder injury and would not return to the game. Athletic director and Lady Wave assistant coach, Bobby Allison on Endaya Greene's status for the upcoming games, "It's happened before. It is kind of a day-by-day thing. Her pain tolerance will determine how much, if at all she plays in the next few days." The Wave would head into half with a, 37-13 lead.

In quarter 3, the Wave o9ense finally broke through nearly doubling their output from the first half. Zakieya Williams opened with a steal and converted it into fast-break points at the other end. Kiana Rojas followed with an impressive steal o9 a block, leading to more points from Williams and the Wave poured it on scoring 30-points in the 3rd quarter alone. The Wave would take a, 67-28 lead into the 4th.

In the 4th Jayden Vega got a BOOM! From the crowd as she opened the final quarter with a 3-pointer. Zakieya Williams set the Jayden Vega for more quick points inside the paint in the paint. Kayla Wilson really shined in the 4th as she successfully converted a 3-point play after being fouled in the paint. Wilson later in the game had a nasty dish to a wide-open Sierra Grant who nailed the 3 to cap o9 the scoring as the Lady Wave would defeat the Lady Sharks by a final score of 92-35.

The Kingsborough Lady Wave's historic season continues as they win their 10th game in a row and improve to 12-1 on the season. During their 10-game win streak, The Lady Wave have outscored their opponents 978-493.

The history-making season will continue on Thursday December 5th as they'll host Nassau Lions at 6 pm.
